Hidden Deep! What have you memorized? Telephone number? Names? Dates? Song lyrics? Of course, you have. We commit to memory a number of pieces of information that we recall when needed.
What have you memorized to help when you need wisdom, guidance or strength? The writer of Psalm 119 stated that he had hidden deep within his heart the word of God to prevent him from sinning against God. In times of need or uncertainty, he could count on the Truth of Scripture to direct every step and thought.
This summer we are challenging students to memorize a large chunk of God's Word. Actually, we are challenging them to memorize 105 verses. Yes! You read it right. We want students to memorize every verse in 1 John. The REAL reward is the joy of knowing and strength of hiding God's Word deep in our hearts. Additionally, each student who completes the memorization at each checkpoint will receive a tangible reward. The final reward is an all-expenses paid day adventure trip.
You will find a link below in the REGISTRATION and FORMS section that includes all the information. Now here's another challenge. Why should just students do this? Why not parents also? Forget all the excuses of getting older, being too busy or not being able to remember things well. All of these have already been used by students (oddly enough). So parents: What about you?
Even if you missed the first checkpoint, you can jump in anytime. The second checkpoint is coming soon! Get started today.
Mark your calendar! There are several opportunities for you to get connected.
